Speed up Lightroom 2.0
One of the touted benefits to the latest Lightroom upgrade is the 64 bit support. So, why is Lightroom 2.0 running so damn slow? After some searching various message boards I found the reason. Lightroom 2.0 defaults to running in 32 bit mode. Just change it to run in 64 bit mode… right?
And here’s how:
iPhone email strategy
After a few months with my iPhone, I have officially given up. When I first got my iPhone I was quite on top of things—clearing out my inbox almost hourly. Soon, it became daily. And now… once I get through it… it loads 25 more messages from the server. I can’t keep up. So, I have decided that my iPhone inbox will always be full. It’s more of a “record of what’s going on elsewhere.” I’m hoping that the new firmware update will include a Clear All function, or at the least a one-touch delete from the list screen. Is anyone else struggling with this? Perhaps I should check out what Merlin has to say at 43Folders.com.
My mac is my friend
I just needed to let you all know.
All kidding aside… in comparrison to working on a Windows machine (which I have for 10 years)… I do feel as though my mac is doing things to make my day easier. The OS feels more organic and human. I have both setup now side-by-side on my desk… and in going back to the Windows machine… it looks and feels cold… very grey… almost Soviet.
Never say never
OK… I have to be honest. I’ve switched. I’ve been working on a Mac for about a month now. I have to say that it’s awesome. Most things are awesome… some things are not so great… like the speed at which the computer actually runs (Rosetta). But if you couple that with the all of the conveniences… I’m sure it’s a wash. More details to come.
